It had been months since Santana had shown any kind of affection towards Sami. She’d always been the bitchier of the two but she’d never tried to push Sami out when they were younger. So as the Lopez twins sat side-by-side in the darkened choir room with the rest of New Directions, watching Quinn and Rachel perform a very slow and beautiful song, Sami was beyond surprised when she felt Santana rest her head on her shoulder and link their fingers together. Her stomach gave a jolt and her heart started beating faster as her brain processed the tenderness of her sister’s actions. She wanted to sing and laugh and never let go of Santana’s hand, because this was happening, and she missed it so much.
Quinn stared at the twins as she sung and smiled knowingly. Sami locked her eyes onto Quinn’s and smiled back, nodding her gratitude. She didn’t know what Quinn had done, what Quinn had said, but Sami knew that Quinn had done something. And whatever went down between the two old friends had clearly affected Santana. Sami could ask questions later. For now, she just wanted to enjoy the moment. She let her cheek press against Santana’s hair and she squeezed her hand, unable to keep the smile off of her face.
This was everything she ever wanted. This was all she would ever need. This was where she belonged. With Santana.
